Xlov Updates:

Xlov recently had a new comeback with their 2nd mini album "I,God" with the title track "SERVE." In the music video, "SERVE" contains the well known actor Han So-hee and has classic ballroom elements of vogue in the dance. (Also if you watch it ofc Rui just has to flex and break their spine) Not only do I like the dance and the music video, but I really enjoy the song. It has latin elements and a house-like beat. In my opinion, I really enjoy this album and think that's it's a fresh, new concept. It starts off with the song, "法則:THE RULES" which is an intro inspired by jazz and classical music. It also doesn't have any lyrics and fits the concept really well, selling the fancy and elegant aspect to the concept really well while also being something different. The next song in the album is the title track and then "Extancy (by Wumuti & Rui)." It contains a duet by Rui and Wumuti and includes siren vocals on a house beat and even includes the iconic vogue boom sample. The next song is "BACK 2 BACK" followed by "Hips (by Hyun & Haru)", and "Masterpiece." "Masterpiece" is my favorite besides the title track, and overall the album really pulled together the concept and showcased what Xlov is about.

All about Xlov:

Xlov is a kpop group that consists of 4 members, Haru, Hyun, Rui, and the leader, Wumuti. They debuted on January 7, 2025 with their song "I'mma Be" and have grown in popularity with their unique genderless concept. (Please note the entertainment company stated that the concept is different than their identities and just means being able to break gender stereotypes of what each gender can do, although some members have stated that they are okay with people using different pronouns) All of the members perform and experiment with androgynous styles and promotes people to be themselves.

One thing that's different about Xlov is that they are redefining Kpop and Korea. Korea is a conservative country and Xlov is a big step in the right direction of acknowledging queer identites and overall being yourself. Despite them only having the concept of being genderless, from content and songs I've seen from them I can assure you they are incredibly supportive of the LGBTQ+ community and push the limits of idols, especially Kpop where this would all be considered taboo 10 years ago.
With the group being different, they also come with backlash from people and shows. For example, when they performed their SBS Inkigayo performance, a lot of Hyun's lines got censored like "pull the trigger" and "take it slow boy, I'm gonna kill it hard." Fans deemed the change as excessive due to Inkigayo being inconsistent in what they choose to censor and not censor.
